Mind blowing mountains

We arrived in the mountains wearing very warm clothes and all huddling up to each other during the night.

We arrived in Gatlang, the first village where we met three German girls. Women were wearing dresses with a tough like carpet hanging down the back and there were children running around with no clothes on.

In the mornings we always, every single day, had chapatis and fried eggs. At the start I didn’t like it but got used to it and then really did like it. For lunch we always had noodle soup. For dinner, we always had the traditional Nepali food dal bhat which was rice, lentils and other vegetables with spices. It was very yummy!!!

These were our porters, Pemba in blue and Ranjan in green. They helped us carry our luggage everywhere through the trekking and always went on ahead.

Karma made stick bows and arrows for us to play with. The arrows were made of bamboo.  We pretended to shoot chickens!

Here we had to wear the most warm clothes because it was the coldest but we got the best views. Here are a few of them. At night time we had to wear vests, t-shirts, puffer jackets and coats and on the bottom half tights, socks and leggings.

Millie was getting bored and wanted to play schools so mummy helped her get all dressed up and she looks very cute!

This is Karma carving the heads of animals on sticks. Gabriel had a tiger, I had a bird, dad had a Dragon, and mum had a stupa (which is a small Buddhist temple).

People offer water to the gods and put water into a little bowl for each of the gods to protect their houses.

We had four or five bridges along the way that we had to cross to get to the other side!

  1. Hey Jemima, love the blog and the pics! I’ve been a bit slow getting subscribed to the family blog, but have finally managed it. I’ve done one reply to Gabriel, so will have another go. Love to all – where are you off to next and where are you going to be for Christmas? It’s grey and misty here, damp, and the temperature is just beginning to drop. London full of Christmas lights and people doing bonkers shopping. I am endlessly tidying my flat, but it never gets tidier. Keep having a lovely time and love to everyone. Sophie xxx
