Australia – New Zealand

We don’t have any photos because our camera has broken down

A different Sort of Christmas

I have arrived in Australia and we are meeting my friends the Axioms: Alex; Barry; Emily; James; Harry and Finn. We only spent one day in Australia and we went to the beach and had lots and lots of fun! Before we left to go to the beach we stayed in their grandparents’ house for one hour and we got some Christmas presents from them which was really lovely. I got a skirt and top and so did Millie and Gabriel got an Arsenal football kit! We went to an awesome surf beach and we made a trap on the adults  – it actually worked. We had fish and chips for lunch and it was okay. After lunch we went into the waves and as they were coming towards us we got covered in seaweed. James came in with me and Emily and to be honest it was awesome.

We arrived in the Bay of Islands on Christmas Eve and got introduced to Sarah, Willy, Nick, Ted and James . The next day was Christmas Day!

Mum had said that we should only expect little things and had also said Santa wouldn’t find us in New Zealand, she said she would put a sack instead at the end of our beds .In the morning we opened our sacks and surprisingly some beautiful things were waiting for us to open. My favourite present was a bag that Gabriel gave me.

Christmas was a bit different because it was hot and a there was a beach and no snow. We spotted some Dolphins on christmas day and rushed out on the speed boat to go and find them. There were two other dolphin boats next to us packed with people and there were Dolphins surrounding the boats, then they liked the speed boat and came towards us, jumping and making beautiful arch shapes in the air. At one point two of the dolphins swam under the boat and we almost got the opportunity to touch them before they whisked away.

After about half an hr we went back to shore and walked back up to the house.

For Christmas we went over to Will’s sisters house, Sarah’s house – we all sat down at a long table and had Christmas crackers and ate potato salad and peas and beans and sweet corn and ham. For dessert the adults had Christmas pudding and the kids had strawberries and cream and ice cream.

After that we all put our guesses in as to what colour the queen would be wearing for her speech and I guessed coral. I played with her two dogs and they were really fluffy.

Another day we went to dolphin watching and we saw lots of them, jumping out of the water and beautiful shapes. At one point we saw about 10 fins gently sliding through the glittering water. It was amazing and I love them so much that they are now my favourite.
